"CCEW has helped me to improve the way I do research by helping me think about innovation, business, and entrepreneurship."

~ Mary John O'Hair
Inventor, Fall 2008 and Spring 2009

The Inventor Experience

As authors of selected pieces of Oklahoma's intellectual property, inventors are crucial participants of the CCEW internship experience as they provide scholar and technical mentoring, paramount for the success of a commercialization project.

What's Involved?

Inventors' participation begins with a "boot camp" at the beginning of each semester and ends with a final presentation at the end of the semester. Inventors routinely participate in team meetings, address questions via email or conference call, and participate in two progress reviews, which occur approximately every five weeks leading up to the final presentation.

In this way, faculty and researchers who participate in the program lend their technical and intellectual expertise to the intern team so as to clarify difficult issues concerning the commercialization process of the technology at hand.

Results

At the end of the internship term, inventors, mentors, and technology stakeholders can expect actionable recommendations to commercially advance the technology.
