Hong Liu
Dr. Hong Liu is currently the Charles and Jean Smith Chair in Biomedical Engineering, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Liu is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and a fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). He is also the Chief Editor of the Journal of X-ray Science and Technology, one of the important international journals in x-ay sciences.
Dr. Liu received his college education in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Polytechnic University and his Masters training in Applied Physics from Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Liu was on faculty at the University of Virginia, and then at Johns Hopkins University. He joined the faculty of the University of Oklahoma as an endowed chair professor in 2000.
Dr. Liu is an active researcher in Medical Imaging. His current research projects include phase and phase contrast x-ray imaging, digital mammography, digital radiography, stereo fluoroscopy, and optical and fluorescent imaging devices. Dr. Liu has published more than 100 peer reviewed scientific articles, numerous book chapters and several patents. His research has been sponsored continually by major research grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other peer-reviewed funding agencies.
Kord Campbell
Mr. Kord Campbell is currently the Founder and CEO of Loggly, a company that is commercializing a web application system management model. He has over 13 years experience in the computer networking and computer software industries.
In 1996, he founded The Internet Shop, at the time the 3rd largest Internet Service Provider in Oklahoma. The company was eventually acquired LookSmart, Ltd. In 2002.
In 2003, Mr. Campbell started Zoto, Inc., an Oklahoma-based online photo sharing start-up company. He also has experience with Splunk, a company that provides databases for machine generated IT data, as their Chief Evangelist and Director of the Developers Program, and Mashery, a web 2.0 start-up that manages data for Netflix, Best Buy, NY Times, and more, as their Head of Operations.
Mr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.
